HEALTHY SNACK IDEAS

HEALTHY SNACK IDEAS
Here are a few suggestions for healthy snacks to send. Please do not necessarily feel limited to these alone. I am sure you all could expand this list with your creative ideas. We do try to stay away from things that are heavy on sugar, colorings, additives, etc. Healthy is the key word! Please send a snack labeled with your child’s name on it each day. There will be a basket to place these in each morning. We will provide cups, napkins and water. Fresh fruits (already washed): grapes, strawberries, apple slices etc.
▪ Baby carrots with ranch dressing
▪ Mini muffins
▪ Banana bread (or other breakfast breads) sliced
▪ Rice krispies treats
▪ Fresh cheese slices with crackers
▪ Cheese filled crackers
▪ String cheese
▪ Mini-bagels with cream cheese
▪ Snack mixes
▪ Graham crackers
▪ Saltine crackers
▪ Cookies made with oatmeal, raisins, or carrots
▪ Some combination of the above!

Kids love the combination of fresh fruit or vegetables along with crackers of some kind or bread or muffins.
We like the children to do as much by themselves as possible, so if they can be easily handled by them it will be a great help. Water is served at snack, the children will be learning to pour their own drink, so if you want them to have juice please send it in their lunch.
When your child’s birthday is approaching you are welcome to bring a special snack for the class to share. Please coordinate with me which day you would like to do this. If you have any questions, please always feel free to just ask! Thanks for your help!
